Dear APRU CIOs
On behalf of the APRU CIO 2008 Conference Program Committee, we are pleased to announce that the 2nd APRU Chief Information Officers (CIO) Conference 2008 will be hosted by University of Indonesia from April 16 to 19, 2008.
The CIO Network of key IT leaders and professionals established among APRU member universities during the inaugural meeting of APRU CIOs at University of Southern California in March 2007 provides a platform for the exchange perspectives and ideas on best practices and standards in ICT. This network seeks to facilitate understanding, experimentation and strategic partnerships among the IT community leaders of APRU member universities and the Pacific Rim.
The CIO 2008 Conference is scheduled to start in Jakarta, Indonesia with a welcome dinner reception on Wednesday evening, April 16. A full two-day program from April 17 to 18 will comprise keynotes, information sharing on APRU member projects through CIO briefings, individual/ joint presentations from members, small-group discussions on collaboration opportunities and IT site visits. There will be an optional team-building program on April 19 in Bali , Indonesia. The conference fees (excluding fee for the program extension) are US$250. Fees for the optional program inclusive of a return flight ticket to Bali and two nights' accomodation (April 18-19) are approximately US$300. Please contact Mr Junaidi of University of Indonesia via email at Junaidi@ui.edu to register your interest and participation.
We have received suggestions based on your feedback following the CIO 2007 conference earlier this year. These are being taken into account as we develop the program and agenda for next year's conference. We are happy to invite your inputs on possible themes or topics of discussion for next year's program. If you are interested to join the program committee for CIO 2008, we would welcome your involvement.
Updates to the CIO 2008 program will be posted on the APRU CIO
Collaborative Website at <http://apru.usc.edu/>
We hope you will be able to save these dates on your calendar for CIO
2008 and look forward to seeing you at University of Indonesia next
year.
Sincerely
